As an artist, my work is mainly concerned with feminine beauty rituals and self image. I'm intrigued by the impermanence of the makeup products that are used in "crafting" femininity and their ritualized application and re-application. I wonder about the more permanent effects engagement in these rituals could have on one's sense of self.
