Day 154: Sam Hodges

My love of people directs my figurative sculptures. The anomalies of human interaction with one another, and their respective environments, fuels my passion to tell a story.  This story is at times a reflection of my own “head-on” collision with life; at other times, it is my reaction to the irony-filled world around me.

I like the intimate world of working small where my hidden thoughts can gently come forth without fuss. My use of color allows me to layer and direct the story these thoughts provoke.

I love humor, use sadness as a stepping stone to a higher place and through beauty, leave hope.
